Humanities

Pre-Kindergarten

These classes are designed to focus on pre-reading and writing skills, large and small muscle development, problem solving skills, and kindergarten readiness skills.

Kindergarten

Our curriculum emphasis is preparatory for first grade, spending time on projects and instruction in a variety of subjects.

Grades 1 - 2 (Emphasis on World History) 

  • Year One: World History I and World Cultures

  • Year Two: World History II and World Cultures

Grades 3 - 5 (Emphasis on American History) 

  • Year One: Ancient Americas to the Great Gold Rush

  • Year Two: Civil War to the Industrial Revolution

  • Year Three: Early 1900’s to our Modern Times

Grades 6 - 8 (Emphasis on World History) 

  • Year One: The Ancients - Creation to the Roman Empire

  • Year Two: The Middle Ages - Fall of Rome to the Renaissance

  • Year Three: Age of Explorers to Modern Day


Science

Kindergarten

Students will be introduced to science topics through class discussion and experiments that coincide with the curriculum.

Grades 1 - 2 

  • Year One: Anatomy, Life Sciences (Botany), and Physical Science (Weather)

  • Year Two: Life Sciences (Zoology), Astronomy, and Physical Science (Atoms/Molecules and Physics)

Grades 3 - 4 

  • Year One: Land Animals

  • Year Two: Swimming Creatures

Grades 5 - 6 

  • Year One: Pre-Chemistry and Physics

  • Year Two: Astronomy

Grades 7 - 8 

  • Seventh Grade: General Science

  • Eighth Grade: Physical Science
